Favorite Five Tuesdays

This weekend I was home and craving a NYC brunch. Sure they have brunch other places but they dont do it with the same enthusiasm. I am all about the messy hair and creative eggs. Brunch is the only time I feel it is completely unacceptable to be overdressed. Strange, considering I think as a society we gotta pull it together in the formality department. Sweatpants on airplanes, jeans at the theater? c'mon people. But, as usual, I digress. My friend said that I love breakfast so much that I should probably call it "breakfunch" instead of "brunch."

So that got me thinking about my top five favorite breakfast items.

1. Oatmeal with golden berries, pecans and maple syrup.

2. Soft boiled eggs with buttered toast and baked beans

3. Huevos Rancheros!

4. My moms granola with vanilla yogurt and raspberries, peach smoothie on the side

5. Truffled egg toast with asparagus and cheesy grits

**All washed down with a fresh cup of Baristas Beans coffee of course! Oooo I am making myself hungry!

Ok your turn- What are some of your favorite meals to start the day?

1. toast with peanut butter
2. blueberry pancakes
3. apricots drizzled with honey, with granola
4. 2 eggs over medium with floppy-cooked bacon
5. 1 bakery fresh glazed doughnut straight out of the oven

Any of these things goes beautifully with fresh coffee or a mimosa :)

1. Toasted everything bagel with cream cheese, tomato, onion, smoked salmon and freshly cracked black pepper

2. Huevos Rancheros or a breakfast burrito

3. Eggs over easy or a fried egg sandwich. probably with melted cheese

4. The steak salad at the now extinct Cafe Colonial. Hanger steak over arugula, with balsamic and cherry tomatoes, topped with shoe string fries. Somehow it was so much more than the sum of it's parts. I'm convinced there were secret ingredients. It just didn't add up!

5. Earl Grey tea with half and half and sugar. The best thing the brits have to offer if I do say so
