The Golden Globes 2010
Tuesday, January 19, 2010 at 7:52PM This Sunday I got to do some of my favorite things, eat tacos, laugh at Ricky Gervais, and judge other people's fashion choices.
The last thing proved difficult considering there were some very strange and unflattering dresses going on. Namely Kate Hudson (looked like a back brace), Sandra Bullock (looked like an Ikea curtain) and Drew Barrymore (loved the waist up but it fell apart with the hip adornment.) Now for the good ones:

Aside from the fact that Emily Blunt's giant veneers kinda freak me out, she looked positively ravishing in pale pink Dolce and Gabbana.

I know this dress doesn't photograph well, but Carrie Mulligan and her adorable petite headband prompted an "awww" from the girls in attendance. Her Nina Ricci gown was a smart choice for her frame and interesting without being over the top. Also she resisted the urge to slather on the bronzer. (I'm looking at you Penelope Cruz and Toni Colette.)

At first I wasn't too sure about Diane Kruger's Christian Lacroix dress, it seemed to be wearing her and not the other way around. But then upon further review I decided that I love the color, the white bow and clutch were a nice unexpected touch, and her hair looks fab. I'd love to hear your take.
Tell me what you think:

I also loved Ginnifer Goodwin's dress because she took a risk in a short, bright color and looked cute as a button.

In the men's category, Jon Hamm looked smashing in Tom Ford. But I think it was because he was wearing the best accessory of all, his face.
Side note- was Julia Roberts totally drunk or what?
And now honorable mention goes to Christina Hendricks for creating the only moment where the mister paid any attention to the show whatsoever:
She also gets a thumbs up from me for bringing voluptuous back to Hollywood, being on one of the greatest shows of all time, and supporting Project Runway alum and fellow Brooklynite Christian Siriano. That dress must have had some amazing infrastructure to pull off all that strapless support. Kudos!
Nowabouts you might be wondering, "Well if the stars are so bad at dressing themselves what would you wear if attending the Golden Globes, pray tell?" So, let me take this opportunity to share what would have been on my rolling rack for the evening:

Re: Christina Hendricks. Indeed, it is delightful to see a curvy woman mixed in with all of the tall, size zeros. She is beautiful and saucy and I love her.
And dang do I love a good dress-up :)
